Kate Spade

Thanks to AEOT's heads up, I checked out the Kate Spade Sample Sale (here).  My husband will be proud, I didn't buy anything.  But, if I were shopping, I would have snatched up the following:

in gold

What would you snag?

Sweet Nani

James' step-grandmother passed away this past weekend.  She became ill over the last month and early Saturday morning slipped away after squeezing her daughter's hand.  She will definitely be missed.  I've posted several pictures in her honor.

Nani, we love you and hope you are at peace in Heaven.

Food help

I need some new options for JW to eat. We have done sweet potato, squash, peas, green beans, apples, bananas, pears, mango, avocado, and I just started plums. Bananas blocked him up, so we'll reintroduce them later. He loves avocado (and I love that they are so easy - I'm making most of the food) but they give him major gas (or at least that's what I think is messing with or sleep this week. He devours a teething biscuit and has ha ritz crackers. I tried Cheerios and that ended with my finger in his mouth. He isn't taking much off a spoon lately, but will work on a teething biscuit. So I'm thinking maybe some other finger foods? But he's not crawling yet, so I'm not sure about that either. So I ask all you other Mommys out there. What do we do to mix it up/make it more interesting?

Procrastination

I have a long to do list but this is keeping me from it. But I can't put him down. I'm pretty sure I should be taking advantage of this, so the list will wait. Love him and moments like this!!

Gone Missing

MISSING - Adorable baby who sleeps through the night.

If found, please return him to his mamma.  You might find her ingesting large amounts of caffeine and using toothpicks to hold her eyelids open.

Month 4 - A month in Pictures

Because Mommy is lazy, unmotivated or just busy, here is another monthly update in pictures, almost 4 months late.  But don't worry little one, we've been loving on you and living life to the fullest these 4 months and I will get these posts up to date soon!

4 month chair picture.  look how happy you are!  Your dimples light up my life.

You're sleeping in the little lamb.  This thing has been a life saver for mommy!

I have so many pictures of you napping in mommy's arms.  I just love it.  You look so peaceful.

And you love your daddy quite a lot.  I think you might even be a Daddy's boy.  Your eyes light up the minute he gets home from work.

Happy Easter!  Your First Easter!

Looking like a big boy sitting up in the chair.

Getting a little big for the little lamb.  Found a new snuggle friend in Mr Giraffe.

Look at that hiney.  You still absolutely love bath time.  You even created some bubbles of your own!

those hands are always in your mouth.  Mommy thinks you might get teeth soon.  (but she'll later learn it took another 3 months)

Sleeping on your back (because back is best) you rubbed off some of your hair.  Mommy thinks it is kind of funny, and cute, the perfect little line you have on the back of your head.

Naptime on the play mat - you konked right out!

Mommy and Daddy took a little trip this month.  They were gone for 3 nights.  They missed their sweet boy, but enjoyed getting away for awhile.  Bama and Miss K made sure we had plenty of pictures while we were gone.

sitting up in the bumbo playing with the play mat toys - a new adventure that you liked!!

Mommy loved this picture - it almost felt like you were looking right in the camera saying "Hope you're having a good time Mommy.  I miss you, but I'm having fun here, too!"

We started with rice cereal this month.  Rice only lasted for a few days and then we moved on to oatmeal.  Your delicate little digestive system did not enjoy rice.  It took a couple days to get you regular.  But you loved eating cereal off the spoon.  You knew instantly what to do with it.  This was the first time in the high chair.  You are getting so big sweet one.  And you're starting to show signs of independence.  You really want to do it yourself.  That or you like the feel of the spoon on your gums.  I think it's the former and Mommy and Daddy are going to have their hands full!!

Mommy bought you a new toy, but you're still a bit too little for it.  You still enjoyed jumping for a few minutes.  I think you'll really like it once you grow into it.  And Mommy will really like being able to keep you contained!

Love this picture!!

Daddy introduced you to the iphone and Baby Einstein.  This was a Saturday morning spent lounging in bed.  So fun.  Minutes later that phone was in your mouth.  Nothing is safe around you!

See, I told you, you really love your daddy!

At our friend Aidan's birthday party.  You were having so much fun.  You were giggling up a storm as Mommy raised you in the air and Daddy said "boo".

Having SO MUCH fun!!

Hands free passing of the paci.

JW got Mail

Add he really likes his new toy!  Thanks GiGi Rose and Hal!!

Other things to note from this month:
We've switched you to just the sleep sack, no swaddle and you seem to have handled the transition well.
We've tried various versions of a schedule for you and I think we've settled on 8 oz bottles at 8am, 12pm, 4pm, and 8pm.  You have your cereal with the 4pm bottle.  This seems to be working for us.
Mommy had her first Mother's Day.  It was a nice day!  Thanks for making me a Mommy!  I love you.
You have found your private part.  I am not sure you know what it is or how it functions, but your hand shoots down there the minute the diaper comes off.
You attended a wine tasting this month.  You were a champ in the bjorn while Mommy and Daddy tasted wines. If you're keeping track, you've now been to a wine tasting and a beer tasting.
You seem to be sleeping better, and even through the night some!
We finally caught your giggle on tape.  Mommy wrote about it here.
We've started Skyping and FaceTimeing with family - its great to be able to see them in "real time"

Until next month love......

1 - Because I am dreaming of Fall and I love a cozy knit top, jeans and boots.  Which speaking of, I think I need a pair of brown riding boots.  My splurge for the fall or a potential birthday gift?
2 - Just because....how true is that
3 - Cute craft idea.  Would help to use up the wine corks we have.  I might be able to make about 20 or more trees.  What does that say about us??  Oh yeah, we drink a lot of wine ;)
4 - To us up some my basil - looks like a yummy twist on pesto.

ENJOY!  So are you on pinterest?  I need to follow you!

not a total fail

http://soon2befit.tumblr.com/post/5115275738
So today was not a total fail for August goals (still to be published).  I wanted to start getting back in shape.  June and July were pretty much a bust except for tennis.  So, on days I don't do a full workout I thought I would try the above....yikes....talk about raising your heart rate and breaking a sweat.  It only took about 10 minutes, but I got sweaty.  Oh - and I have to admit, I could only do 50 squats.  And my legs were shaking when I was done.  I think I'll try to do this and work up to at least 2 times through by the end of the month.  Anyone else interested?  I figure its the no excuse workout because you don't need anything except a wall, you can do it ANYWHERE!  I'll keep you posted on progress!

August Goals - Day 1 FAIL

So I was all set to write a post about my August goals and actually start one of them today.  You see I would like to start getting up at 6 so I can have an hour or so to myself to do fun stuff before work - you know like read blogs, facebook and check out pinterest.  Then I won't spend as much time during the day sucked into them.  And I could get enough work done to hit the gym while the sitter was still here.  Well, Mr. Man had other ideas.  After 2 nights of sleeping until at least 6:30am (back to normal - finally), he decided that 1:15 am and 2:15 am looked like great times to be awake.  And the 2:15 time (after James soothed and put him back to bed twice) lasted until 3am.  So, needless to say, 6:00 am came and went and I did not get out of bed.  So you'll have to wait until tomorrow to hear about my goals for the month and hopefully a positive report on my wake time!  Until then, have a fabulous Monday and a great start to August (seriously, how is time passing so quickly - August already??)
