So, I just realized that I have been living out of a suitcase for a month. Yes, that's right, we left for the US a month ago and haven't been in one place for more than 5 days since then. I am definitely looking forward to settling in the new house. Which, speaking of, we close next Tuesday! While we will have all of our KY stuff to move in, we won't receive the NL stuff for probably 6-8 weeks. But, we'll have enough to get by.
I just found out from work that I will be back in Europe the week of Jan 28. So, really only a short end to my suitcase living. Good thing is I will be flying from Atlanta, so its a direct flight! Out on Monday evening, back home by Friday evening. Not bad, huh. (I might be a little tired given all the time changes, but it will be nice to be home).
Still thinking of a new name for the blog....any suggestions are welcome...I was thinking along the lines of Back at Home, Home in ATL....comment and let me know what you think!

Packing
I apologize for the sporadic posting. We thought life had gotten as crazy as it could, but it got even worse. (My husband's take on the New Year coming soon).
Today the movers are packing our belongings here in Holland. Tomorrow they will load the truck. (we won't see the stuff for another 8 weeks or so) We will work Mon - Weds and fly to the US on Thursday. Once there we will be picking up our stuff in LEX and driving it ATL. So, posting may get more sporadic as I am not sure what my internet access will be. I am still thinking of a new name for the post as we are now moving to a HOME and aren't away from home anymore. Hopefully once we are in the US and a bit more settled, I can get back to posting regularly. I do owe some trip and wedding recaps. Those will be coming soon.

Husband's Version of the New Year
Below is James' take on the New Year so far:
the story:
christmas went well, jessi was in a wedding, then we flew to marseilles, france for new years with hugo & daphne and the belgian crew. after celebrating midnight in the new year, jessi got a phone call that her 108 year old grandmother had passed away. crying and drunk we lasted until about 4:30 inthe morning. i did not sleep, woke her up at 5:30 AM, booked tickets at 6:15AM and was on a plane at 8 am to Paris to come back to the US - we had only been in france 3 days from the US... after arriving in ohio we went to her parent's house. since we cleared out our entire house and put everything in the garage, i had to drive 3 hours south to our house so i could find a suit (since we had not yet been home in europe). while there i stopped by and spent the night with my grandfather, who then passed away in the middle of the night while i was with him...devastated, i then left the next morning to go back to jessi and the viewing. her grandmother was buried on my birthday and then we raced back down to my grandfather's viewing and then burial, at which i spoke and sang (no joking please). my sister then decided to tell the family that she was pregnant....then we just flew back here to Amsterdam and arrived yesterday (tuesday)....movers are coming tomorrow and friday. we fly back to lexington on the 17th (thursday) and load up stuff and drive to atlanta on the 21st. we close on the 22nd and then i am officially unemployed and will probably crash for the year......i think 2008 has been a cruel joke...a false-start and i would gladly accept a do-over. absent that, fast-forwarding the next 10 days would be great too....

Just when you think life can't get any more crazy, it does. James and I returned to Europe for New Year's in the south of France. On New Years Day (as the ball was dropping on the east coast) we were on our way back to airport. We are currently in Ohio.
My 108 year old great grandmother passed away on Monday. There are many things to say about her, but most importantly she was an amazing woman. She has left each of us with years of memories that will be cherished for years to come.
We'll miss you Grandma.
