Weekend Visitors

Our friends Schal and Chris are coming to town for the weekend!! Schal and I met working at The Limited during our senior year of High School and have been friends ever since (12 years for those of you wondering). We have a fairly relaxed weekend planned. Pool if its nice, cooking out, and Schal and I are going to SATC. We'll be avoiding TV, internet, etc as to not see any spoilers! Hope everyone has a great weekend. Tennis

So, I have decided to take up tennis. James played in a Spring Mens Doubles league and we got roped into the Summer Mixed Doubles team. Now, I had NEVER held a tennis racket! I took 1 lesson before the first practice. I think practice went okay, but it will be awhile before I am comfortable....I will keep you posted on my progress.

We are headed up in a bit to hit some balls!!

Home Again

I am finally back in Georgia!!! So much has gone on in the last 10 days, I hope to get everything in here. I apologize for the long post.... (I have to list dates so I can keep track of everything)

Sat - 17th
James and I went to the Braves game. Thanks to Josh we had tickets in the SunTrust section....valet parking, free food, free drinks, and seats just behind the away team on deck batter. It was a GREAT TIME.

Sun - 18th
I flew to the west coast for a work meeting. Direct flight, nothing exciting.

Mon - Thurs - 19th - 22nd
Attended work meeting. Monday we went to Jay Leno's garage (he uses my company's products on his cars) and then to the show's taping. Simon Cowell, Rob Schneider and Josh Groban were the guests. It was fun to see! The rest of the week was filled with team meetings. I left the west coast on Thursday evening. I had to take the red eye back because of the wedding I was in over Memorial Day weekend.

Fri - 23rd
Arrived in OHIO for wedding. Took nap, James arrived, attended rehearsal, crashed early.

Sat - 24th
Wedding!! Great time. Bride looked gorgeous, weather was fantastic (wedding was outdoors), fun was had by all!!

Sun - 25th
Recovery....Family Cookout at my parents house. It was a very relaxed day!! We cooked out and played cornhole (we even got our own set to bring the game to GA!)

Mon - 26th
Up early and headed to KY to work on the house there (its for sale). After 6 hours of working we decided it would not be in our best interest to drive home.

Tues - 27th
Got up, finished repairs on the house and headed to GA!!

So, here I am. Back in GA and back to work and a regular schedule.

AWAY

I am on the west coast this week for meetings....sorry for my lack of posts and comments. I will be back soon!

Anniversary

So, its a couple days early, but we are having our anniversary dinner tonight. We're going here

Tomorrow night we are going to the Braves game. We got tickets from our friends, the seats are GREAT - row 2 behind home base. Maybe we'll make a sign so all of our Atlanta friends can look for us on TV!

In honor of our anniversary, I have posted some pictures from our wedding. It truly was a wonderful day. There isn't anything I would have changed about it. The weather was perfect, the food was delicious, the cake was great and the party was FUN!! (well, I guess I would have tried the pizzas and sliders at the end of the night, but I think they were gone in about 2 seconds!)

Silver Shoes - Part 2

So, I think these will be the choice for the wedding. I think they will be comfortable enough and I should be able to wear them again. I am thinking dark jeans maybe?

Silver Shoes

I didn't know it would be so hard to find a pair of silver shoes for a wedding. I wore myself and my husband out at the mall on Saturday trying to find the perfect pair. I didn't want to spend a lot on a pair I would not wear again. I also found a cheap pair ($15), but I couldn't imagine wearing them in public. So, after 3 hours at the mall, I came home and ordered 4 pair from Zappos (see previous post). They are supposed to arrive today, so I will let you know how it goes!

I absolutely love this website. My last 2 orders have come next day air at no charge to me! YEA!

But, is it wrong to order 5 pairs of shoes, to return 3-4 of them??? I have a small, narrow foot and it is difficult to find shoes that fit. So, with free shipping and returns, I end up sending a bunch back.

So, I ask again...is it wrong to order a bunch of shoes, knowing you will only keep 1 or 2 pairs???

Conference Calls

My neck has been bothering me lately and I was wondering why...well I spend most every morning on conference calls and hold the phone in the crook of my neck. I need to get a headset or something!!

Derby Party Recap

THE PARTY WAS A HIT!

We had a great time at our party. I did red rose arrangements on the breakfast and dining room tables. We did Mint Juleps (fresh simple syrup) and Oakes Lillies for drinks. I made mini hot browns, benedictine dip, ham and tenderloin biscuits, and had beer cheese. And for dessert, I made a "race day" pie. We had about 30 people at the party. We ordered and gave away official 134 derby glasses. And all the ladies wore a hat! It was so much fun, we're gonna make it annual!! (we had cinco de mayo festivities in the neighbor that we all went to after the party, everyone was jealous of the hats and want to come next year!)

Overall, it was a wonderful weekend!! (Unfortunately I did not take any pictures on our personal camera, so as soon as I get some sent to me, I will post them!!)

Derby 2008

Since we are not in Lexington to celebrate Derby at Keeneland, we thought we would bring Derby to Atlanta! We've been planning a Derby party!! So, after all the crazy travels, I have been trying to get this party pulled together. The floors are finally done, so we are able to hang pictures and put the raining kitchen items away. I'll definitely post pictures after the party!
