Feeling a bit better...
Oh, and I did open a bottle of wine, have just one glass. Maybe that will relax me a bit.
;)
update....the wine put me to sleep, but upset my stomach.
Overwhelmed
And because of this, there will be no work for me the rest of the year - so I have spent the last couple days creating my list of work projects and making sure everything gets done (we wont have phone or internet while on vacation - I know the best possible type of vacation). Plus, I don't want to leave our house a disaster while gone. And we have to coordinate with the couple who will be taking Barley out for us. I need to finish laundry so we can pack. And when packing we have to leave room for food and James' mom's stuff we're taking down for her. And, since time will be tight upon our return, we have to get all Christmas shopping done...well everyone is done except my husband...yes, unfortunately that is the last person I have to buy for. You would think it would be first on my list....in my defense, he is kind of hard to buy for....
Oh and I forgot, I have to finish 35 hours of CPE before the end of the year....
And you would think I would like a glass of red wine....hmm not really...I just want to curl up in my bed and wish it all away...
Oh and another thing, we have to watch some of our DVR stuff or we wont be able to record any thing while we're gone....
Christmas MEME
1. Wrapping paper or gift bags?... Both, but I prefer wrapping and doing pretty bows on top
2. Real tree or fake....? Well, the last 2 years we didn't have one. Before that it was real. This year we are travelling for 3 weeks, so FAKE.
3. When do you put up the tree? Sometime AFTER Thanksgiving
4. When do you take the tree down? Right after New Year
5. Do you like eggnog? NO
6. Favorite gift received as a child? I don't remember. There are pictures of me loving Teddy Ruxpin (I think he was a Christmas Gift)
7. Hardest person to buy for? James
8. Easiest person to buy for? Dad - Mom always tells me what to buy
9. Do you have a nativity scene? No, but want one
10. Mail or email Christmas cards? Prefer to mail. And I like to write little comments, rather than just signing. Not sure when those are going to get done this year.
11. Worst Christmas gift you ever received? Not sure, there have been a couple.
12. Favorite Christmas Movie? Christmas Vacation, Home Alone
13. When do you start shopping for Christmas? Usually after Thanksgiving. Though I had a couple at the house earlier
14. Have you ever recycled a Christmas present? Yes
15. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas? Sugar Cookies - the iced ones!! Oh and all the other cookies my aunts make!
16. Lights on the tree? White - everywhere
17. Favorite Christmas song? Mary Did You Know....
18. Travel at Christmas or stay home? Travel - A LOT - but plan to stay home when we have kids
19. Can you name all of Santa's reindeer? I think so....yes, I am singing in my head right now
20. Angel on the tree top or a star? Silver Star
21. Open the presents Christmas Eve or morning? Depends on the travel schedule. Emily and I always exchange on Christmas Eve if we are together.
22. Most annoying thing about this time of the year? Mean People, Traffic, and the combination
23. Favorite ornament theme or color? color - red and silver
24. Favorite for Christmas dinner? hmm, pork (i know you are laughing James) and desserts
25. What do you want for Christmas this year? Not sure, a few clothing items, some new boots, a hair dryer and flat iron - exciting, I know - oh and for good news on the business front
26. Favorite thing about Christmas? getting together with Family....I miss them

Happy Monday!
Given all this travel, we had a very busy weekend. We spent Saturday afternoon at the North Georgia Outlet. Definitely not as crowded as we thought it would be and there were plenty of sales. I have really noticed a difference shopping this year. Not sure if less people are shopping overall or if more people are shopping online. We got almost all of our gifts on Saturday. Sunday, after church we picked a couple small gifts. Once home we spent the afternoon listening to Christmas music and wrapping gifts. I really enjoy it and making sure the packages look nice. But, after about 3 hours sitting on the floor wrapping, my back was killin' me! I think I need a wrapping room :) wouldn't that be awesome, a table to use and a place to keep everything organized. Unfortunately, I don't think there is any room for that in our current house.
Its a busy week, but hopefully I will get to post some before we leave on Friday.....
Have a wonderful week....Its Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas in our house!

Thanksgiving
On Thanksgiving morning James and I ran the Greensboro Gobbler 5K. It was an early morning and a bit chilly. Both of us have been running a lot lately, but mostly inside. Well, this was outside and the trail, definitely full of hills. I finished in a little over 30 mins, not the greatest, but okay given the hills. I am glad we got a workout in...its the last one I did.
Thanksgiving dinner was wonderful...Ali and I worked in the kitchen. I made sweet potato souffle...oh my was it delish! I had 2 helpings (the 2nd one was my dessert). After dinner I crashed for about 30 minutes, too much food. The gentlemen actually did the dishes, I know a shocker really (there are pictures, I will post one when I receive it), but was nice to not have to worry about it. (Ali and I had done most of the dishes as we worked, so it was mainly dinnerware)
Friday Ali and I ran errands. We went to Costco, Replacements Ltd, the Shoe Market, and had lunch. That evening we all went to see the new Bond movie - good, but not great. Afterwards James and I went to meet up with some of his high school friends. It was nice to meet some of them.
We headed home on Saturday to avoid traffic, and we did until arriving in GA...the GA v. GA Tech game was finishing and all the fans were heading home and we were in the middle of it! Not too fun, but again, I wasn't driving and slept for about the first hour and a half!! :)
Overall a great holiday...it was nice to spend it in the US this year!!!
We went for a walk before Thanksgiving dinner (don't mind the casual sneakers). The weather was beautiful! Notice the Dream sweater....I still LOVE IT!!
Christmas Wish List
I have this in White and have worn it out. Great casual layering piece.
This looks unbelieveably comfortable and is SUPER soft (I felt it in Dick's when I was using my Bday gift card)
I have been wanting a new black bag - This is Hobo International and is 50% off at Nordstrom (It has a gold buckle and I usually wear silver, but I think I could mix...)Wednesday, December 3
where in the world
Well not really where in the world, but I have been in 5 states since last Wednesday (GA,SC,NC,KY,OH- and technically TN too since I drove through there, so I guess really 6 states, though I have only slept in 4) . Am heading back to GA tomorrow and will post about Thanksgiving and decorating our house and what a blur December will be....
until then..have a wonderful day and enjoy the season!

GO BUCKEYES
We met 2 other couples at a bar here in ATL...it was like we were in Columbus. They played the fight song, all the other OSU tailored songs, banners everywhere and everyone in Scarlet and Gray. It was so fun. Definitely going to go to more games there!!
O-H-I-O!!

Tennis Update
Is officially over for us. We did make it to the playoffs!! We played on our way to the wedding in Asheville. We lost in a tie breaker for the first set and didn't really have time to play 3 sets. So, we lost the second set 6-1. We had a fun season (for the most part) and might even play together again.
Womens Doubles Season:
Begins with our match tonight...should be intersting. We are both competitive and didn't want to go in at the lowest level...I am starting to think we probably should have done that. But oh well, if we lose miserably I guess we can drop a level for next season!
Now I just need to get a couple jackets to keep me warm as the weather cools down!! (I did get a gift certificate to Dick's for my birthday so maybe I will find something in there.)
Sunday, November 2
Weekend
I just finished baking 2 Chocolate Chip Pecan Pies (Derby Pies) for the Cake Walk at the Fall Festival in our neighborhood. We are heading to church, then to meet James' friend for lunch. When we get home we're going to play tennis (I am starting a women's doubles league tomorrow, so we need to practice) and then have dinner and games with some of our friends.
Overall - A GREAT WEEKEND! I am really happy to be back home without the worry of packing again in a couple days. I promise to post some of the pictures and commentary from our New Orleans trip and the wedding last weekend soon!
Hope you're having a great one!

Winning Season
It was exciting to get a couple wins in this season! I still have many things to work on, but at least I still like the game and my hubby and I are still speaking!!!

Birthday
www.anthropologie.com
Cute top from Anthropologie. It looks super comfy and would look great paired with jeans while working from home. Available in Gray, Brown and Green...I think any color would be great.
I also would like a straightening iron. No, I don't currently own one and have not owned one. But I want to get my hair cut a bit shorter, more chin length instead of shoulder length and like it straightened. Hubby says he won't get it for me because he has rule for gifts for significant others - nothing with cords. Their meaning could be taken the wrong way.
Other things:
JCrew dream sweaters (see posts below on the Dream sweater) - any style or color
New running shoes
Workout clothes
Fall tennis outfits - or maybe just jackets to wear with skirts I already have
I don't know....I am sure I could find things at JCrew or Banana Republic.....
Any ideas?
Christmas China?
The first picture below is our China pattern - Kate Spade Library Lane. (our place settings are still in boxes, but I promise I will use them soon!)
The second picture is the Kate Spade Donner Road pattern. It is discontinued, but still available at http://www.replacements.com/webquote/L__DOR.htm I think I would like to do accent pieces and maybe serving pieces?
Thoughts? (I ask because people have started to ask what we want for Christmas...China being a gift that was mentioned by my grandmother.)

Ice Cream and Potato Chips
Just sick and the only things that tastes good/doesn't hurt my throat are ice cream and potato chips.
Pretty healthy, huh?!?!
And I am missing tennis lessons as we speak.

So good to be back, Buckhead Life Group and Crazy Week
After working our a**es off in the yard, we ventured to Atlanta Fish Market. We had received a card in the mail good for $30 off....not too bad, James' meal ended up being free as he took advantage of the Ultimate Restaurant Week $29 3-course meal. Check it out, Buckhead Life Restaurants are hosting 2 weeks of 3-course meals for the value price of $29...great deals as the menus are pretty good!
Now its back to the grind...though this week is busy! I am trying to get the house decorated for Fall (James did a great job cleaning up while I was gone so all I have to do is maintain and hit a few things he missed) and keeping it clean for the arrival of our friends on Saturday. James has dinner meeting tonight and Tuesday, I have tennis on Tuesday, James has tennis on Wednesday, we have matches on Thursday and Friday evening, James has a match Saturday morning, and then we pick up our friends at the airport on Saturday evening....YIKES busy week. I'll try to post during this crazy week and hopefully have pictures of our house decorated for Fall...since it is such a great month.
6
Anyway - sorry to get off on a tangent - I will keep you posted on the success/failure of our work yesterday. Hopefully in a couple weeks I can post pictures of a plush yard!

Flyin' Home Tomorrow
I am SO ready to be back home, spending time with hubby and Barley and sleeping in my own bed!! I am also looking forward to a good workout. I have gone to the gym to run twice and did some pushups/situps in the hotel room once, so it wasn't totally wasted.
I don't have any pictures from the trip which is unfortunate really. My first day here was on Sunday and it was BEAUTIFUL. Of course its been rainy and cold the rest of the week, which is exactly what I remember.
Off to wrap up training. Trying to decide whether to have dinner with friends or go straight to the hotel (moving closer to the airport for my morning flight).....
Wednesday, October 1
Forgot...
It was not a fun one to lose. We should have won. As is the practice in mixed doubles the woman is directed the most balls...well that was the case in this match...I even got nailed in the leg....I have a nice big bruise to show for it.
We play again next Thursday and Friday. That will wrap up our season and maybe our career of playing together...will keep you posted on that one.
When this season is over, Romi and I will start the women's doubles league...fun, fun!!
