For contributing to my junk food cravings.  Doritos BOGO FREE...you know I picked up 2 bags yesterday at the store!  Let's just see how long they last!

UPDATE:  Bag 1 - gone on Thursday  (I think I should be ashamed)

20 - 21 Weeks

Since I'm a little behind on this one it will be in bullet format.

- Heartburn has officially set in.  I spoke with the midwife who said I could take zantac twice a day as a preventive measure.  I can definitely tell when I forget to take it.  I also asked the doctor for a prescription to see if I could at least get the cost to go against the deductible.  (I got the Rx in this past week, I think it is more expensive that getting the Zantac over the counter, and they sent the generic...doesn't make much sense does it??)
- I got to hear the heartbeat 2 times in 2 weeks.  The first time, the nurse said "awww" and I had to ask.  She said that each time she heard the baby's heartbeat, it was right next to mine.  She said "See, you're bonding already."  This made me feel a bit better as I have been having a hard time feeling "connected" to baby.
- I started to gain a good amount of weight.  I didn't really gain any in the 1st trimester.  Looking back I think I was up around 9-10 lbs at this point.  Definitely needing maternity pants/bottoms if they're not elastic.
- With the pending shower (at the time) James and I set out to get registered.  We registered at BRU and Target.  An interesting process to say the least.  My patience wore thin a couple times.  But registering made James think again about not finding out the sex....He got tired of all the neutral stuff - too much white and cream!  So we put a few blue and pink things on there.
- We had a date night to celebrate 20 weeks.  We hit Target for registering then grabbed dinner.  While at dinner (this was before our u/s) I asked James if he secretly hoped the tech would slip up and tell us the sex...he said yes, kind of...I could tell he was still wavering a bit.
- no worries - we did not find out the sex at our ultrasound.  Everything looks great, baby was measuring right on the 12/22 due date and looks great!!  Yea!  That was exciting to hear as you always worry (or at least I think we as mothers or mothers to be continue to worry).  Now we're just hoping for a healthy baby in 18-20 weeks!

(I think this is an adequate description of what was going on in those weeks - Its hard to go back and remember!)

Bummed at the Gap

We made a stop at the mall yesterday after church because I wanted to look at maternity clothes at the GAP while I had the Give and Get coupon (30% off helps the sting of clothes you only wear for a few short months).  I did get a couple cute tops and another pair of jeans.  I now have 2 pairs of gap jeans and am hoping I'll like them all the way through.  On our way out, I suggested we run through the Body section to see if my favorite underwear (besides the Hanky Panky thong) were on sale. (they are actually low rise enough that I think I will be able to wear them all the way through, unless my backside expands too much).  I searched everywhere and did not see any, so I asked.  Guess what....THEY AREN'T MAKING THEM ANYMORE...seriously Gap, love these underwear, would buy plenty more pairs if they were available...but nope they aren't....so what's a pregnant girl to do since I really could use some more undies......

Monday Mornings

Barley and I just got back (well, about an hour and a half ago, but I had to feed the baby and get caught up on emails first) from a 3 mile walk.  The temperature was fantastic - about 68 degrees.  I walked in Nike capri pants and a tank and it was perfect.  I worked up a little sweat, but nothing too bad (though as I sit here and get a whiff of myself, I think maybe it was a bit bad).  Hopefully the weather is changing to more bearable temperatures.  I was look at my tan (or lack there of) this past week and wondered where the summer and my days at the pool went.  Well, when the water is the temperature of bath water and not in the least refreshing, you stay away from the pool and the outdoors in general.  I am hoping these moderate temperatures stay around for the weekend as I could use some pool time to wrap up the summer.  Plus, I am sure my little god-daughter (who I can't wait to see this weekend - oh, and of course her parents, too) would love a little pool play time!!

So cheers to productive Monday mornings and cooler temps.  Hopefully there will be more of these to come!

Happy Saturday!

We've been busy here since first thing this morning.  Started with a trip to the gym.  We both lifted (it had been 2 weeks since I had been in the gym).  Breakfast was a homemade egg, sausage and cheese muffin (YUM!).  Then we started on yard work.  I pulled weeds for about an hour (I could sit on the ground and do it) and then had to rest.  James gave Barley a haircut, cleaned up the front yard, mowed, trimmed and then gave Barley a bath.  We getting ready to have a late lunch of left overs (tikka masala and I promise to post the recipe - it is WONDERFUL!!)  Later today and tomorrow we have to get a closet organized so we can start storing the baby stuff.  Then its pizza and a movie.

We're being busy busy bees!!  Trying to take advantage of weekends at home!!

So I am way behind on the weekly updates....I did take notes for the 20 week post, so I'm going to separate them some and try to get them up over the weekend.  But here are some pictures to tie you over.
20 weeks before dinner, Barley had to get in on the picture action, too.

Refreshed

I am finally feeling like myself again.  The last week was so crazy busy.  I wasn't getting naps, going to bed late, up early.  I was feeling very overwhelmed.  The last two nights though I have slept well (with only 1 pee break) and am feeling much better.  Below is a quick rundown of the last week.

Thursday - WORK, try to get on road at 1.  Plans for the meeting change on Friday, so I don't have the morning free to get caught up, presentation must be ready before hitting the road.  Can't get my phone to sync with the Bluetooth in James' car, go to dealership.  Bought dress for shower, decided a size bigger would probably be best, stop and exchange.  Finally on the road at 3.  Arrive LEX around 9, get dinner, crash at hotel.

Friday - work meeting all day.  Meeting changed focus, presentation not needed (which made for a very frustrated girl), stayed a bit for Lexington Legends game (minor league baseball, meeting was held at stadium).  Left early, stopped at Macys to pick up gift for wedding shower I missed last month (important because I was going to see the bride first thing Saturday morning).  Finally arrived at my destination.  Caught up a bit with my friend M, crashed in bed around 11.

Saturday - up around 8 (well, really awake by 7, but tried to stick it out in bed for a little longer).  Breakfast, play with friend's kids (cute little 2 year old girl, baby boy).  Packed up for the day/night and headed to beginnings of bachelorette party.  Massage at 11 (good, though not as good as they were pre-pregnancy.  She did work on some of the kinks in my neck/shoulders).  Post massage lunch of pizza.  After lunch, friends had to return home to pump (sorry if TMI) and I had to pack up for the night.  On way to continue bachelorette festivities, stop at Macy's again to purchase gift for festivities.  Sit at pool at hotel for an hour or so, get sprinkled on, try to drink 1 non-alchoholic beer (don't get me started on these).  Dinner at 7, Comedy Show at 8:30.  Back to hotel room at 10:45.  The rest of the party continued the festivities at the bar.  Relaxed some.  12ish, party returns to hotel room, have to let them in.  Lay in bed catching up with friends.  Asleep around 1:30.

Sunday - up and ready to go around 8, crazy hungry and packing up by 9.  Breakfast at Panera and back to friend M's house.  Help get kids fed and ready to go to the pool for a bit.  Pool, back to house, kids to nap, adults to shower.  Brief 20 minute down time.  Off to grocery.  Back, kids up, prep salad for dinner.  Dinner at friend A's house.  Back to M's house.  Kids to bed (baby has fit and can't be soothed but we finally get both down).  Kids asleep.  Go through baby girl sleepers (because M is convinced I am having a girl) and take some newborn stuff to have ready if/when a baby girl arrives.  10 head to bed....11:15 get off phone from helping mom with computer stuff.  Say good night to J, asleep before midnight.

Monday - up at 7, off to work.  Full day of work in the office.  Tried to leave at 4, got out around 5.  Work conference calls at 7PM and 10PM.  Bed around 11:30.

Tuesday - up at 7 (thank goodness 7:30 call was cancelled).  To work.  Leave work around 5:30, get settled at aunt A's house.  Grab Donato's for dinner (yum - miss Donato's in GA!!!) and jump on Delta Gamma call at 9.  Say good night to James, in bed around and asleep by 11:30.

Wednesday - up early, work call at 7:30AM.  Work til 4.  Stop at The Paperweight (I used to work there) and visit.  Shop for gifts, return maternity pants to Macy's, stop at Marshall's (scored a hot deal and will write about it later) ate dinner at Outback with SMIL, FIL, aunt and uncle.  2 hour dinner eating and catching up, stop at Target, $100 later head to aunt A's house.  Asleep by 10:30 FINALLY!!!

Thurday - set alarm to get up and walk.  Turn it off and am awaken by aunt A at 7 with coffee.  Enjoyed coffee on the patio then got ready for work.  Work til 5:30, dinner at 6.  20 minute walk (finally) and crash by 10:30.

Friday - up at 6:45 at work by 8.  Feeling refreshed!!

Sorry for the diary like entry.....Excited that hubby arrives today!! YEA!!

Busy weekend..will do my best with pictures.  More posts next week!

Again

Is it just me or does it seem like I am always on the road.  Or at least as soon as I get settled back at home its time to go again.  Who knows how many more trips I have left in this pregnant body, but taking advantage of the work time while I can.  But good news.  This isn't just a work trip.  I have a bachelorette party to go to Saturday that includes massages, dinner and a comedy show.  Sounds like fun to me.  Then next weekend after a week in the office, we are celebrating the nuptials of J's cousin (who got married on the east coast in June) AND my first baby shower!  Fun times!  I am sure I will have plenty to post after this crazy week.  Not to mention the posts that are currently on my list to share with you.  20-21 week updates, reading (I finished another book) and some restaurant reviews!  Here's hoping you have a good weekend and hopefully I'll find some time to post early next week!

To keep you occupied until I can post!!  These pictures are from our girls weekend 2 weeks ago.  They are from my SIL and MIL (I have not uploaded mine yet, so you may see some more later).  This will also give you a look at the bump at 19ish weeks!

Pizza Night!  Fresh dough and everything!

All the ladies before dinner Saturday night

James with our Nephew
Trying to get our nephew to relax.  Barley got a treat and was allowed on furniture by his dad.

James relaxing with our nephew.  Notice the neutral colors of the couch and blanket.  I kind of feel like my whole house is that way.  Hopefully I'll get to do some decorating/changing up soon!

More Crazy Dreams

I had another crazy dream last night.  This time no clue as to the sex of the baby.  Somehow I ended up in the middle of what seemed like an episode of Law&Order: SVU.  There was some guy who had been hiding and doing god knows what with girls.  For some reason (I think he was a neighbor) he was at a friends house I was visiting.  The dream progresses, I figure out he is hiding the girls and confront him (Just like Olivia on the show).  He seems docile then dives for a gun.  I fight him and get the gun to drop, but am somehow saved by my partner (which is hubby).  Then the police come in and the guy is arrested....then I woke up.

CRAZY!

PMS on crack

So I had a case of the hormones this past week.  Not sure what brought it on specifically, but I was a mess.  Crying in the shower, snapping at my loving husband....these pregnancy hormones are like PMS ON CRACK.  Yikes!  Is there a way to put them in check?  I want to feel the warm fuzzies of pregnancy.....
