Weekend Recap

nothing too exciting but I wanted to chronicle our weekend (and a big bummer - I don't have any pictures)

Friday - evening I had a tennis match - my line did not win, but overall the team won.  So a success I guess.  I did get a new racket and I'm looking forward to playing better with it!

Saturday was a busy day.  James had a tennis match in the morning (he won in 2).  Then we went to the Kansas - Georgia Tech football game.  It was JW's first trip to a game.  He seemed to have fun.  Not sure if it was the game or playing with the girls that sit in front of us.

After the game we went to Antico for pizza.  Some of the best pizza in Atlanta!  Very authentic Italian!  We all just relaxed at the house once we got home.  When JW went to bed, James and I watched No Strings Attached.  Not a bad movie.  And I actually stayed awake for the whole thing - impressive!

Sunday morning we finally went back to church.  JW spent some time in the nursery - he looked like he had a great time - he was playing and giggling when I went to get him.  After church we had a meeting to go over a landscape design quote, then I headed to my tennis match.  (Not before JW had a meltdown in the car and took his morning nap way too late.)  We won our match and the team won all five lines - Yea!!  I think the naps messed with JW, he was a bit fussy for Daddy while I was gone.  He as in bed around 8:30 though with very little fuss.  We ate dinner and James went to bed.  He had an early flight to catch.  I stayed up a bit later reading The Help - yes, I am finally reading it.  So far so good!!

Hope everyone had a great weekend and got to enjoy some Fall weather!!

Thanks Pinterest

I've been "pinning" lots of yummy recipes - I love that you look at a picture first.  I am one of those people who will buy cookbooks based on whether or not pictures are included.  Something about seeing what the dish is "supposed" to look like that gets me excited to try something new.  I have 39 new foods to try pinned in my Let's Eat board.  So, this week I'm trying 2 new recipes.  (When we are actually home for a majority of the week, I am really trying to make a menu plan and follow it.  I think it is saving me money at the store.  Now the downside is that I don't feel like my pantry is "stocked" in case I need to come up with a meal and don't want to go to the store.  That will be another post where I ask for your pantry essentials!)  Due to some unexpected travel and evening tennis, I think we will only be able to try one of the recipes this week.  We've actually already tried it.  Let me tell you it was YUMMY!  Fairly simple too!

The recipe is for fried goat cheese rounds - cheese and it is fried - this has to be good.  The recipe is designed for them to be appetizers, but I threw them on a bed of mixed greens, drizzled some balsamic dressing over it, and had some french bread on the side.  We'll definitely have these again!!!
