Miss Me - part 2

It probably hard to miss something that's hardly there.  My posting has been sporadic at best lately.  I guess that's life - and we've definitely been trying to live it to the fullest.  So while I want to apologize for my lack of posts (because I know you've been missing JW pictures), I really can't.  Hope you're okay with that!

I'll leave you with a picture and quick update.

We just got back from spending 9 days in Ireland and Scotland with great friends.  JW did amazingly well on the trip (flights and all).  I'll post pics and details soon.
I met my first blogger IRL!
My tennis team won our division (I haven't posted about tennis much lately, but I'm still playing.  Hopefully we'll slow our weekend travel and I can play more!)
JW caught a little virus while on vacation and spent yesterday naked trying to get over a fever.  We're looking and acting better today.
I've been cooking (when we're home) and even took pictures of one dish and the steps.  You'll get that post soon too.
My basil and mint is growing like crazy!!  I'll post that pic soon.  I need more recipes to use it though - any ideas??
The poison ivy has taken over our yard even though they sprayed after I had my breakout.  They are either going to have to spray again, I'm going to get ivy b gone at Home Depot, or I'm just going to hire someone to take care of our landscaping (it needs it anyway).
We're home for the next two weekends - yea for that!

JW's "seat" on our return flight! He had fun playing with toys in here, but not sleeping, that was reserved for Mommy and Daddy's arms.

Getting settled before take off.  And don't take JW's hand gestures for how he felt about the flight.  He actually fell asleep before take off and slept until 30 minutes before we landed.

Run, Don't Walk

And buy the ingredients to make this.....

Pasta with Pesto Cream Sauce by The Pioneer Woman.

The picture is from her post as well.  I was hungry because it was late when I was eating.  Hubby was traveling and I had bedtime duty (full duty actually) and ate after JW went to sleep.  This is what we usually do, but I was especially hungry today.  This was so yummy.  The tomato is just the right touch of additional flavor.  All the flavors go well together.  Very summery and fresh dish.  I could have eaten all that I made.  But I refrained.  The rest will be lunch tomorrow.  YUMMY!

Yes - I used my own basil!!  I may have a green thumb afterall!

Matchbook

I stumbled upon this publication after repinning a page (yes, I have jumped on the Pinterest bandwagon.  I don't have too much up yet, but figure its a good way to keep track of ideas I like.  Plus when I have a budget I'll be redecorating the house! Follow here)  So far I'm pretty intrigued by the articles and think I'll keep reading.

Page 38-43 from this issue is what I pinned....I think I will have to inventory my closet and create a shopping list!  (and maybe even further the closet purge from May)

I look forward to reading more (when I find time!!)

Go check it out Matchbook

Miss Me?

(thought maybe my 5 regular readers might miss me?!?)

Bullet updates as life is busy right now

- I spent a weekend with some of my favorite DGs.....so happy to see you and look forward to working together!
- We took JW to the beach for the first time!  (Daddy had a conference so we tagged along.  Yes - this work from home gig has its advantages)
- Spent the 4th weekend celebrating birthdays with close friends in Asheville - much fun!
- Little man has hand, foot and mouth.  The last couple nights have been a challenge.
- A good night sleep has not been had for awhile.  We shared a room with Wheeler in a pack n play for 6/8 nights.  We've shared our room with him for the past 4 nights (see bullet above).
- We're taking a trip to Ireland and Scotland.  Hoping to meet my first blogger IRL!
- Work is picking up and everything is due end of the fiscal year - Sept 30 - YIKES!
- Planning a trip to OHIO to visit the family!  My grandmas, sister, aunts, cousins will watch JW while I work.
- We're planning our 5th anniversary trip for next year....Tahiti anyone?!?!?!?
- I've been a slacker lately.  Remember my goals from May?  I haven't told you what I did or didn't do, and I definitely haven't set any for June or July.  Time is slipping away and I feel like I am only doing enough to get by.
- I have a running list of blog posts but no time to write.
- Did any of you watch The Voice on NBC?  Javier was our pick from the start - great voice!
- We've been watching a lot of Netflix lately (since all our regular shows are on summer break).  Though I don't remember all the movies we've watched.  I know The Fighter was one.  And Morning Glory.  The others have slipped my mind.  We have The Kings Speech to watch when we find time (or when I think I won't fall asleep watching)
- My basil is growing like crazy!  It has inspired me.  Maybe next year I'll venture into a couple vegetables or other herbs.  (I'll take a picture and post soon)
- I'm hoping to do a lot of catching up this weekend.  On sleep, DG work, house work, etc.  Wish me luck!

Happy Friday!  Have a wonderful weekend!

3 Months - A month in Pictures

3 month photo shoot - cute face with dimples

3 month photo shoot - not sure what face this is, but its kind of cute

sleeping on the guest bed while Mommy wrapped up work.  Mommy enjoys her post work snuggles most days, sometimes she has to work longer though.

Great smile after 3 month photo shoot.

The NCAA tournament was at the beginning of this month.  Mommy and Daddy's teams were playing in the tournament.  This night they were both playing (not each other) so you were wearing your UK pants and some UNC socks.  Two nights later they faced off and Mommy's team won!  GO CATS!

watching the bball games with Daddy.  You took position in the crook of his arm and actually watched the games (while you were awake).  You love watching TV - sports, HGTV all of it.  We think you'll either be an athlete or handyman ;)

Chewing on your hands and burp cloth - that's your new favorite past time.  You also started chewing on Sophie this month, but it will be a month before you really get the hang of it.   This picture really was to show the cute little rolls you are getting in your legs.  You're a growing boy.  Mommy and Daddy "weighed" you at home (on scale with you and without you and calculated the difference).  We both think you are around 15 pounds.  You are getting so big we tried to go to size 2 diapers at the beginning of the month.  That didn't quite work as you leaked out of both sides.  Back to size 1's but not for long.

Photogenic little boy!  First trip to church on Sunday (your first trip to church was for Ash Wednesday service, so this was the first Sunday service)

Family picture for the church book.  Really cute Gap outfit!  Yes it was warm and Mommy dressed you in a sweater and khakis.  You needed to look super cute for church.  Later the sweater came off.  And if I remember right, you had a little incident in the stroller and the pants got a little dirty ;)

All smiles while hanging out with Mommy after work.  You had several days of a lot of spit up this month.  We tried to switch you to formula to see if that would help and created a whole new problem.  Your little belly wasn't ready for it.  You went 5 days with out filling a diaper.  You were not a happy guy.  But no worries, a little brown sugar in the bottle and things were flowing again.  We learned that we can't switch you cold turkey.  Something to keep in mind for when you turn 6 months and Mommy stops pumping for your bottles.

Grandma and Grandpa came to visit this month.   You went to your first ever beer tasting.  Daddy carried you in the bjorn and you slept most of the time.  We definitely got a few stares and started some discussions, but you were great.  What was not so great was your explosive diaper at lunch BEFORE the beer tasting.  You were sitting on Mommy's lap.  She was wearing a khaki skirt and it spilled out of your diaper - not a pretty sight!  (But that wasn't your first untimely explosion this month.  You had an issue in your stroller on a walk with Daddy.  AND naked on your changing table.  It was a disaster and the timing was terrible as Mommy was trying to get out of the house to meet Daddy for a date night.  No worries, we got you all cleaned up, over to Aunt B's and Mommy and Daddy had a wonderful night!)

you really started grabbing for things this month - including grandma's hair.

A visit with Grandma and Grandpa!

One morning we were up early and you helped Mommy check emails before Ms. K got here. (that's why mommy looks so good in her no makeup, dressed to work out look!)  You are losing all your pretty dark hair.  Check out that comb over look you have going on.

All smiles after a bath.  You really enjoy getting a bath!  You also started sitting in the bumbo this month.  You seem to really like it and are doing pretty well holding your head up.

Buscia and Gampy came to visit too this month!!  This is Buscia and both her grand-boys!

Pat your head and rub your belly - or is it the other way around?!?!?

Snoozing - you really can sleep anywhere (I think you are Mommy's boy!!)

Passed out on the play mat.  You just had too much fun with Mr Octopus and the other toys you crashed right on the floor.  See, you really can sleep anywhere!

Mr Impatient - you grabbed the bottle out of Mommy's hands and started holding it yourself (at the end of the month).

Bandaids on the the shot spots from your 4 month doctor appointment.  You weighed 14lbs 4oz (Mommy and Daddy were a little off!)  You are a growing little boy and we love you!!
