Weekend Recap

I spent Thursday - Sunday in Kentucky! (I know how could I head north with the SEC tourny here in ATL, but I did miss all the weather and wouldn't have been at the games anyway). I had a fantastic 4 days. On Thursday I went into the office. But that evening, I got to meet Maggi (Congratulations Molly and John). Maggi was born on Weds morning, so I was very excited to get to see her and spend some time with Molly. After, I had dinner with Jamie. It was great to catch up. After spending the night at my MIL's empty house (its for sale), I went back into work for a bit. Then lunch with KJ (always good to see you). After lunch I headed downtown to get a drivers license. I am not sure if I have shared with you all this drama, so here it goes:

When we were living in NL, I had to trade my KY license in for a NL drivers license. Which was fine until we decided to move back. I went to the GA license bureau (or whatever they are calling it now) to exchange my NL license for a GA license. Well, in order to do that I would have to take the written AND the driving exam. And the best part, if I didn't pass either part I would leave with only a permit - basically someone would have to come pick me up. I don't know about you, but I just didn't trust myself enough to attempt both exams. So, I thought I would try my luck with KY. And boy did KY come through for me....no problems, (other than needing a copy of marriage cert since my name had changed) out in 20 minutes and NO tests!!

After getting my license I headed to Louisville to visit Jennifer. Spent a great evening with her and "the Germans". On Saturday I went to my friend Sara's shower (http://southerncomfort-scd.blogspot.com/) and dinner with a group of sorority sisters. It was very fun to see everyone again. Spent the night with Nikki and then headed back to GA.....

What a great weekend! It was wonderful to see and hang out with all my KY friends! I miss you!!

St Paddy's Day

Happy St. Patrick's Day! Tonight we are going to the bar and having 1 Guinness....I think it is a very appropriate way to celebrate!

How are you celebrating? Or do you celebrate?

(Last year I was celebrating my bachelorette with my closest friends!!!)

My Heart Hurts

I had not written about these murders before now, but as it has been on my mind since last week, I wanted to say something. My Heart Hurts. I cannot imagine the emotions that are sweeping these two campuses and families. So, to honor the two slain women and their memories, below are their pictures....images I just can't get off my mind. (pictures courtesy of The Atlanta Journal Constitution)

I have not been out of college long, so I can't help but wonder, what in the world is going on in this world? Tragedy lurks everywhere.
My heart and prayers go out to the Auburn and UNC campuses, the girls families, and my DG family as we have lost a sister.

Retail Therapy

It amazing what a couple hours at the mall can do for you! I got out a bit while James was working on Sunday (I know, the joys of owning your own business). I had some specific things in mind, but also ended up with:

(in black)
(in this pretty blue color)

Then I picked up some of this mascara. I LOVE Diorshow mascara. It is a wonderful product. It seems that a good mascara can be so difficult to find....but I have found it!!

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! The weather has been great here since Sunday afternoon. Welcome Spring!

Busy Week

I was actually pretty busy with work this week. In addition, James and I attended a Fuqua (I won't say Duke) MBA alumni event. It was nice to get out and meet other people. Friday I fought off the bug that has been going around. I laid around all afternoon with a fever and cough. Feeling much better today. James did quite a bit of work yesterday unpacking our kitchen boxes. They put the cabinets back along the wall so we were able to get organized. Its amazing, we have a kitchen counter!

I haven't been a good poster lately, but hope to get better. I have some stuff going on I can't post about yet. I will let you know when/if I can.

Hope everyone had a fantastic weekend and didn't get rained/snowed in anywhere.

Progress

We made a lot of progress on our house this weekend. I will post pictures shortly, but here's what we got done:

Garage cleaned to fit 2 cars
Bedroom curtains hung
Rug moved upstairs to the bedroom
Towelracks hung in his and hers bathrooms
Office almost completed organized

So, pictures definitely to come!!!

Up early tomorrow for meetings with my European colleagues. Hopefully I will get pictures posted in the afternoon! (after a short nap)
